    Holiday Safety Tips

    December 5th, 2007

Did you know that common seasonal plants can be toxic to dogs and cats? Here are the top 3 plants that may cause problems this holiday season:

Poinsettia: The sap is an irritant and if ingested, your pet may show signs of oral irritation by shaking its head, hyper-salivating, pawing at the head or mouth, or vomiting.

Mistletoe: If the berries are ingested, your pet may exhibit frequent urination, increased heart and respiratory rates, diarrhea, vomiting, and hyper-salivating.

Holly: If the berries are ingested, your pet may show signs such as vomiting and diarrhea.

If you know or suspect that your pet has ingested any of these plants, contact your vet immediately. Ignoring the warning signs could result in the serious injury or death of your pet.

Party in the Park with Puffy!!

    March 25th, 2007

    Hey, all you cool dogs!

This is Puffy, the Ani♥match® blog dog, inviting you to come and share a day of fun at Angrignon Park. Since I am such a hip downtown dog, the location of the Walk-a-thon has been changed. This year’s Walk-o-thon will be held at Angrignon Park in LaSalle. It’s easy to find, just follow the directions below. Gosh, I just LOVE a car ride, don’t you? And this is going to be really worth it. There’s going to be a magician, face painting, and contests with lots of prizes! You might even win something for your human!

Best of all, we will be raising money for homeless dogs. I know what it’s like not to have humans to love. Been there, done that and it was pretty scary. But then the nice folks from Ani♥match® came along and found me not one but two really great humans to live with and love. Richard and Dawn have even turned me into a celebrity, thanks to my very own blog on the Ani♥match® site. Now I’d like to pass on the good karma to other dogs who need our help. So tell your human to take the enclosed pledge form and ask all their friends, neighbours, co-workers, even strangers, to sponsor them for the Walk-o-thon. The minimum pledge to participate in the event is $20.00, but the more money we raise, the more dogs we save.

    Here’s the details:

    • DATE: May 26th
    • TIME: 9:00am till 1:00pm
    • LOCATION: Angrignon Park, Area 15 (near Metro), Ville Lasalle

Make sure your humans bring their wallets. If they want to park close to the site, there’s a charge for parking (free parking is available if they don’t mind a bit of a walk). There’s going to be all kinds of cool doggie stuff on sale like treats, doggie fashions, even life jackets for boating dogs. There’ll be neat stuff for your humans to purchase too!

So pups, come out and strut for a great cause.
